Tractor Series Over the Years: from the Lanz D2016 to the Fendt Favorit 711 Vario

Naturally, WIKING has to attend the 2011 Agritechnica exhibition! For months, all fans of agricultural machinery have already circled the date in red on the calendar! From 15 to 19 November 2011, new models and innovations will be showcased at the exhibition site in Hanover – and of course, top model-makers will also be present! With 18 exhibition halls covering an exhibition space of over 320,000 m² and 2,600 exhibitors, the Agritechnica has long since been the world's largest exhibition of agricultural machinery. Two years ago, 355,000 visitors – with 80,000 guests from 88 different countries – attended this unique innovation forum. As in 2009, WIKING’s will be present at the SIKU exhibition stand in hall 17, stand B22a. Visitors can see the full range of agricultural machinery to 1:87, 1:160 and, of course, the internationally accepted precision 1:32 scale.

Wide tyres give peat tractors improved traction!
Two exhibition model sets provide an impressive insight into how agricultural machinery has been transformed over the past five decades. The Lanz D2016 is still a blueprint for early developments in agricultural machinery – back then, pre-war hay carts were still used to bring in the harvest. The adria blue Lanz tractor with bright red wheel rims and red-yellow branded logo on the front now tows the hay trailer – a genuine post-war classic model to 1:87 scale. The Fendt Favorit 711 Vario is a direct contrast – nowadays, this inspirational model is used when the peat has been cut. This nimble tractor from Marktoberdorf – and trailer – was fitted with balloon tyres, true to the original mdoel. No wonder these high-capacity tyres make work more efficient. This tractor has a really tough time fighting for traction with the muddy peat moor. WIKING also equipped the Fendt tractor with an alarm light in a central position on the roof.

Agricultural machinery models at the WIKING stand
A visit to Hanover is truly worthwhile! This is a unique European venue offering a full range of high-tech agricultural models. Of course, the WIKING stand will showcase plenty of models with the full spectrum of agricultural machinery of yesteryear as well as today’s modern versions!
